SOT Enhanced DLC+ Bolt Carrier Group

Description

DLC is a thin-film coating with a hardness far beyond nitride or phosphate and a very low coefficient of friction. On a carrier group that means two things an operator actually notices: it runs as though it is oiled when it is dry, and carbon wipes off a surface that gives fouling almost nothing to key into. The DLC here is applied over a high-gloss polished finish, so it is smooth as well as hard — polish is what removes the microscopic peaks that carbon otherwise builds on.

Underneath the finish it is the same Microbest group that goes to the military and to other small arms manufacturers: 8620 full-auto carrier, C158 bolt, individually High Pressure Tested and Magnetic Particle Inspected, OCKS carrier key screws, and a gas key whose mil-spec opening is verified and alignment checked. The bore is chrome lined, so the inside of the carrier gets its own hard surface rather than relying on the outer coating.
