Triggers

The two-stage triggers we fit to our own rifles. Every one fits the standard AR-15 fire-control pocket with mil-spec pins, so the same trigger serves AR-15 and AR-10 rifles and pistols, and the many other platforms built to that footprint. None is approved for the AR-9 or other pistol-caliber builds. The LaRue MBT-2S is our standard fit and the best value in the range; the Geissele G2S®, SSA® and SSA-E® sit above it — each for a reason we’ll state plainly.

// Five models

Two makers. Five triggers. One standard.

Every trigger here is two-stage, fits a mil-spec AR lower, and goes in exactly as its maker built it.

// How we fit them

Fitting it is easy. Proving it is the part we charge for.

Standard fit, stated

The LaRue MBT-2S goes in as standard. A category should show what you get by default, not the most expensive thing in it.

Unmodified, always

No stoning, no polishing, no sear work. The maker’s warranty stays intact and we act as your agent if it’s ever needed.

Function checked

Every trigger we fit is function checked in the rifle — safety, disconnector and reset — before it leaves our facility.

Not approved for AR-9 or other pistol-caliber AR builds. None of our triggers — LaRue or Geissele — is approved for an AR-9 or a pistol-caliber upper. Geissele also excludes the SIG MPX/MCX, and fitting one in either voids Geissele’s warranty. Our lowers are rollmarked CAL: MULTI — if a pistol-caliber upper is on the plan, tell us before we fit a trigger.

// Questions

Trigger questions, answered

What is a two-stage trigger?

A two-stage trigger has a light first stage of take-up that stops at a distinct wall, then a short second stage that breaks the shot. Most of the weight is in the first stage, so the shooter can take up the slack with the decision still unmade.

Which trigger comes on a Second of Ten rifle?

The LaRue MBT-2S is our standard fit. On our SOTM4 lowers the Geissele G2S® is also offered as standard, and the Geissele SSA-E® is the optional upgrade.

SSA® or SSA-E® — which is better?

Neither, and both are $250.00. The SSA-E® is the same chassis tuned lighter (2.9–3.8 lb total against 4.25–4.75 lb). Choose the SSA-E® for a marksman’s rifle and the SSA® where a heavier, certified break suits duty use.

Is the straight bow more expensive?

No. The LaRue MBT-2S is $134.99 in either bow. Bow shape is a preference, not a price tier.

Can you lighten the trigger I already have?

No. We don’t stone, polish or modify sear surfaces — it voids the maker’s warranty and leaves the part’s markings describing a trigger that no longer exists. If you want a lighter break, we’ll fit a lighter trigger.

Will these triggers work in an AR-9 or pistol-caliber carbine?

No. None of the five — LaRue or Geissele — is approved for an AR-9 or other pistol-caliber AR build. Geissele also excludes the SIG MPX/MCX, and fitting one voids Geissele’s warranty. Tell us about the upper before we fit a trigger.
