Description

The SOTM5 is Second of Ten’s large-frame platform. This 18″ .308 Winchester PRS Lite rifle, hard anodized black, is built on billet SOTM5 receivers, with the barrel, gas system, bolt, recoil parts and controls each chosen for the cartridge and named below.

Barrel

• 18″ Faxon Duty Series Gunner profile, .308 Winchester (runs 7.62×51 NATO)
• 4150 CMV steel, salt-bath QPQ nitride, bore and exterior
• 1:10 twist, 4-groove button rifling
• Chamber CMM-checked; headspace 100% checked with a go/no-go gauge (Faxon)
• DPMS Gen 1 pattern .308 barrel extension, black oxide, torqued to 150 ft-lb and pinned (Faxon)
• Threaded 5/8×24; a Faxon Gunner 7.62 MuzzLok® 3-port brake is installed and can be removed, leaving the barrel direct-thread suppressor ready.
• Barrel weight 2.13 lb (Faxon)

Gas System

• Rifle-length RIFLESPEED adjustable gas — set for the load and for a suppressor
• Gas block pinned to the barrel with a steel coil spring pin, in line with Bombproof by Design™
• .093″ gas port; .750″ gas block journal

Upper Receiver

• SOTM5 MOD-0FA billet upper with forward assist, thermal fitted to the barrel, Type III hard anodized black
• 7075-T6 aluminum, LR-308 DPMS high pattern
• Phosphate-finished forward assist; threaded forward assist pin; laser-engraved T-marks; dry film lubed
• Ejection port cover engraved .308 WIN

Bolt Carrier Group

• KAK Industry LR-308 bolt carrier group, double ejector
• 8620 steel carrier, rails, bolt run and gas bore ground to .0002″; 9310 steel bolt, phosphate
• Heat-treated 4130 gas key, Grade 8 fasteners, hydraulically staked; MPI tested and marked (KAK)

Handguard

• 15″ SOT Wedge-Lock M-LOK®, free float, hard anodized black
• 6061-T6 aluminum; 14.4 oz; 1.45″ inside diameter
• Steel HD barrel nut; tri-lug clamp; Grade 8 hardware
• Full-length top Picatinny rail; seven sides of M-LOK®

Lower Receiver

• Upper receiver tension screw; threaded bolt catch pin; rear takedown detent spring with set screw
• LaRue Tactical MBT-2S two-stage trigger with a curved bow, 4.5 lb (2.5 lb first stage, 2.0 lb second) — sear surfaces left as made; 6 lb heavy trigger spring included
• Carbine-length receiver extension, black anodized, on a nitride-finished castle nut
• Armaspec Stealth™ Recoil Spring (SRS™) for the AR-10, replacing the buffer and spring — 7.09 oz actual, 5.7 oz equivalent (Armaspec)
• Radian Weapons Talon® 45/90 ambidextrous safety selector, configured at 90° (reconfigurable to 45°)
